Lighting Options

Located in the top right corner of Poly’s AI texture generation tool, Lighting Options allows creators to control different styles of light sources and HDRI environments for 3D renderings. Poly has many preset lighting options and environments to choose from: from candle 2000K setting to fluorescent 7000K setting.

Located in the top right corner, Lighting Options allows you to control different styles of light sources and HDRI environments.

You can choose between many environment styles, including:

  • Candle (2000K)
  • Tungsten (3000K)
  • Sunset (4000K)
  • Outdoors (5000K)
  • Urban (6000K), the system default which should work for most textures
  • Fluorescent (7000K)

There options are based on different color temperatures, which are measured in degrees of Kelvin (K) on a scale from 1,000 to 10,000. Typically, Kelvin temperatures for commercial and residential lighting applications fall somewhere on a scale from 2000K to 6500K.
