Interface Overview

An overview of the key components in Poly’s AI texture generation editor: Toolbar, Dock, Status Bar, and Side Menu. Learn how to create textures with AI using a text or image prompt, seamless conversion, upscale, PBR maps generation, 3D and PBR maps viewer, 3D rendering, lighting, version history and many other pro features.

This documentation provides you an overview of the key components in Poly texture generation editor to get you started as a new user or discover pro features.

Poly’s AI editor is divided into the following components:

Toolbar

Toolbar (A) is where you get started for texture generation and editing:

  1. Try generating an HD seamless texture with PBR maps with Quick Generate.
  2. Or iterate through some quick texture patches and ideas with Make Patches.
  3. Or convert your existing images into HD seamless textures with Upload Image.

You can also find various texture editing tools like Make Seamless, Upscale Texture, and Generate PBR Maps in this section as well.

Dock

The dock (B) at the bottom of the screen lets you switch between different views:

  1. View your past prompts and generated patches with Prompts View.
  2. View a model in 3D with 3D View.
  3. View your current Render Map.
  4. View any of the six available physical-based rendering maps in PBR Maps View.

Status Bar

The Status Bar (C) on the top has various options you need to enhance and guide your texture generation, editing, and viewing experience:

  1. Check current generation status with Status.
  2. See suggestions on how to navigate or improve your current textures in Header.
  3. Redo or Undo if you make a mistake with Undo and Redo.
  4. Adjust 3D rendering options in Render Options.
  5. Change lighting conditions in Lighting Options.
  6. Switch between different maps viewing toggles in Map Options.
  7. Download and export your textures in various formats (32-bit or 8-bit).

Side Menu

The bottom left side menu (D) is your information portal, where you can access:

  1. Your generation's Version History.
  2. Give us Feedback.
  3. Access our Documentation sidebar.
